Description and History

Helix anchors, earth screws, earth anchors and helical piles are different names for non-concrete foundation system, used to embed different structures to the soil surface. There are several different types, but they all have in common that a helix or part of it in a form of variety of propellers is attached to a base (standard tube, square profile or circular profile).  They are installed into the ground via manual or power-driven rotation.

Historically these foundations are continuation and development of the oldest foundation form – the timber piles inserted directly into the ground.
